Here's a brief pointer on how to avoid getting lost in over-analysing strategic
planning process and definitions. A frequent mistake made by people in planning is spending an inordinate amount of time figuring out what goes where, and what a "real" objective or goal might look like. This kind of discussion about the process of planning can be wasteful. Since planning is an art, don’t worry about what goes where. If you create a common understanding of the goals of the organization, why it exists, and what it does you will succeed.
